An unusual deciduous shrub, up to 3 m high from western China with rose lilac flowers in the Spring and felted green leaves. Tolerant of poor, but well drained soil, it flowers best in a sunny warm position. The flowers can be damaged by spring frosts. Benefits from hard pruning.
