A fast growing deciduous shrub with�alternate leaves and arching branches , up to 4 m high covered in fragrant lilac/purple flowers in early summer. A native of Kansu in China, it is quite hardy and should be pruned after flowering. Prefers an open sunny position in a wide range of free draining soils.
