A deciduous shrub from Afghanistan with white downy young shoots, elongated heart shaped leaves and lovely fragrant lilac-pink flowers produced in mid and late summer. Ht approx 3 m. A temperamental species of variable hardiness but safest in a sunny sheltered position. Tolerant of a wide range of well drained soils.
